Remembrance Gathering

Join us at Heene Cemetery at 11:45am for a Short Remembrance Gathering at 12noon to remember the First World War and Second World War heroes of Heene.

We are very pleased to announce that Major TomWye will be officiating at thisgathering with Grace kindly playing the Reveille and Last Post on her trumpet.Crosses and poppies will be placed on the relevant CWGC graves and familymemorials to the war dead.

Information researched about the men who diedin both Wars will be available to read.

Information and refreshments will be available afterwards.

Heene Cemetery is aWest Sussex Site of Nature Conservation importance and is home to a widevariety of grasses, flowers and wildlife.

The Friends of Heene Cemetery have been volunteering for three years totransform the overgrown cemetery and in that time we have installed three waterbutts, introduced two bee hives, four hedgehogs and laid meadow mats.
